Head coach Brian Kelly spoke with reporters after the practice on Thursday and said that starting offensive guard Garrett Dellinger will not be able to play Saturday vs. Alabama.

Dellinger has been recovering from an MCL sprain from the Tennesee game and has improved, but Kelly does not want to rush him along and risk any further injury.

The o-line looked impressive last week…no need to rush him back.

AND doing it in the player's best interest above all. There is so much more to a great coach than just W-L

Great choice even though we need him. Linemen go down all the time, Dellinger needs PT but his backup is coming in to prove himself. Real PT for the reserves builds depth.
