Brian Kelly appeared on the Paul Finebaum show Monday and provided a new update on LSU safety Greg Brooks Jr.

Brooks Jr., who is battling a rare form of brain cancer called medulloblastoma, was transferred to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis last week and has another surgery scheduled, Kelly said.

More surgeries doesn't sound great, but there aren't many places better than SJ for something like this.

I think it's more a medulloblastoma thing than an age thing. It's more or less considered a pediatric cancer and St. Jude's will have as much experience treating it as anyone.

I didn't either. I'm guessing his cancer is rare enough that they made an exception to continue their research. Glad they did. He is the best place possible.

I’m not sure we’ll win a natty with him, but he’ll always represent the university and the LSU brand professionally and with pride.
