Brian Kelly Gives His Opinion On The Flag-Planting Incidents During Rivalry Week

LSU coach Brian Kelly was on The Paul Finebaum show Monday and was asked about flag-planting incidents that took over Rivalry Weekend, and his opinion on the subject.

Kelly explained that he's not a fan of it and said that you should always respect your opponent.

"I guess I'm old school, Kelly said. I feel like if you beat somebody on the road. You respect the opposition. You play the game, you play it the right way, win it, shake their hand, and move on."

"I think it is disrespectful to do something like that. I'm just being honest. That's just me. I have never played the game that way. I'm not a guy that's going to score late and throw the football. I'm going to take a knee and end the game."

"People do things based on who they are, their personalities, and what they want to do. I get that. I'm just giving you my honest reply. I think you respect your opponent."

"You don't give them any quarter, and don't ask for any quarter. You go play and play hard. But when the games are over, you respect your opponent."

It’s the intent, you intend to disrespect an opponent when you plant your flag on their home field after a win. You intend to humiliate them after you beat them at home, nobody and I mean NOBODY is going to stand by and allow it. If Alabama planted their flag in Death Valley after the beat us there would’ve been an all out riot on that field and rightfully so.

Remember when Auburn stomped the Tiger Eye after beating LSU and smoking cigars. Low class thing to do. I agree with CBK. Beat their arse and shake hands and move on to the locker room. MI should not have done that, OSU will be going to their house next year. Karma is a bitch.
