USA Today reports that 6-0 LSU would be the nation’s current No. 1 team using the former BCS computer rankings.
quote:

After five weeks of stability at the top spot in the College Football Computer Composite rankings, the former BCS computers have a new No. 1 team for the second consecutive week.

LSU, on the strength of its win Saturday against previously undefeated Florida, jumped 10 spots to No. 1. The Tigers are the first team in the two-year history of the CFCC to make a double-digit jump to No. 1.

All that matters none. At least until we play Alabama in 2 weeks. We win that game which i honestly think we will, no one will be able to stop us.

I'm glad we're not "actually" rank #1. It sucks to be ranked #1 during the season because you can only move in one direction and you have a huge target on your back. Best to be #1 at the end and stay hungry getting there.

This makes me miss the BCS era. What a crazy, entertaining, insane, frustrating, topsy-turvy and ridiculous 15-year stretch that was.

"SEC fans should note that although some committee members are "current" athletic directors within other conferences, the SEC's only committee member is "former" Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson (replaced Archie Manning."
You missed Jeff Long, Arkansas' current AD, because he was way up at the top as the Chairman of the Selection Committee.

"USA Today reports that 6-0 LSU would be the nation’s current No. 1 team using the former BCS computer rankings".

Because most fans wanted to see a playoff system we now have one. Once I read that a "special selection committee" [made up of people such as Condoleezza Rice, Archie Manning, and several current athletic directors] would replace computers I stopped rejoicing. We once again have a biased system with a group of individuals who are "clearly making it up as they go along." ( Tyler Brett/RantSports) SEC fans should note that although some committee members are "current" athletic directors within other conferences, the SEC's only committee member is "former" Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson (replaced Archie Manning.

This season is much like the 2011 season. We go completely disregarded/unnoticed at the start of the season, mid way through we are top dog.

We were preseason #4 in '11.

Not even close, 2011 was the number 1 team by October 1st and came into the season ranked 4th. LSU was never disregarded or unnoticed that year.
