LSU outside linebacker Arden Key took a big step forward Wednesday afternoon by participating in practice without a non-contact jersey.

Key, who is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, was wearing a gold "non-contact" jersey during Tuesday's practice but was wearing the traditional purple jersey on Wednesday.

The junior from Atlanta missed most of fall camp while rehabbing his injury and did not play vs. BYU last week. Head coach Ed Orgeron said Tuesday that Key has still not been cleared to play and many expect him to miss the Chattanooga game this Saturday.

I'd still let him sit this week. Absolutely no reason to risk his health for Chattanooga.
