LSU defensive end Arden Key is reportedly back on campus after taking some time off from the team due to personal reasons.

Members of the media saw Key in the Football Ops building on Thursday and asked head coach Ed Orgeron about him but he declined to comment.

The star pass rusher from Lithonia, GA also sent out this tweet Thursday hinting at his return and possible weight gain from 238 to 255-pounds.

This could be some great news for LSU.

Look. It's his business. We don't need to know. Probably family problems. Went home. Straightened it out. Ate Mamas cooking. Gained a few pounds. Came back to BR. Who cares? As long as he gives us 10-20 sacks this year and plays like the All-American that he is, everything is chicken but the gravy!

I really want to know why he took a leave of absence, but I will care less if he comes back and is ready to rock. Oh, and Key > Garrett

To keep from being injured in practice and spring - meaningless for him.

Is he enrolled in school this spring semester and going to his classes or did he already graduate?

My quota of happiness is elevated to stratuspherical level at the news that A. K. has, with some quick, sojourned back to the land of the bayou bengal. This young man has a quality want, demonstrated time and again, once the whistle is sounded.

Sounds as if he said it with pride. Maybe he wants to be 255.

He should. Speed's not everything in the NFL. If he's going to make it, he needed to bulk up a little. He's an exceptional athlete, so I doubt this will affect his speed. I'm sure the coaches discussed this with him.

Maybe his leave of absence was to train and bulk up with sumo wrestlers in Asia?

Has he been in classes? Would he still be eligible by NCAA standards?

It's just water weight. He'll be ready to go.

255? Did he take a break to go do a bunch of roids outside of the purview of the school? Whatever. Hopefully he's healthy, mentally, physically and spiritually, and ready to play.

Here is how it works: A player(s) is dismissed from the team for internal violations which are undisclosed to the team and media, “personal reasons”. What really happens often times is that the player is using PED’s and the NCAA is coming through to test, so the coach kicks them off the team beforehand (usually spring) and then reinstates them or the player takes a leave of absence and the coach protects the reasoning.

and he has been in the weight room all this time and is HUGE.

Ridiculous. This was all about him getting his grades up this spring.
