If LSU was a greater job than bama they wouldn’t be behind in the series by 30 plus games. Hell, auburn and Tennessee are way closer than that.

Yes of course. LSU has more potential than gumpville and I'll bet the present coach there would want to be at LSU more than with the bumps.

In the 21st century, Saban built up LSU football (including a 4-1 record against Bama) and left it in a state where 2/3 coaches that followed also won national titles. Coaches that no one else is hiring now.

He won a bunch at Alabama. Let’s see how they do now without him.

I'd give you high odds, when considering how close the game was without Lane, that had he been coaching in the semi final Ole Miss would have been playing in the title game.

And even if they didn't go on to win the title game that's close enough for me to be comfortable with him leading things at LSU.
