Well...at least Jennings seems to know the plays well..and has some degree of team leadership...I was so glad not to see that "deer in the headlights" look of Jordan Jefferson...Jennings is much more mobile and should continue to get more confidence when the REAL schedule begins in a couple weeks...Hope all the young tigers do well down the stretch!!!!!

The best way for a quarterback to have a high NCAA passer rating (which is the statistic that Jennings leads the SEC in) is to have a relatively low amount of passing attempts. Let's say that two players have the same amount of touchdown passes, passing yards, completions, and interceptions. If one of the players has twice as many passing attempts as the other player, than his passer rating is literally half the amount of the other player. This statistic is not the same thing as quarterback ranking.

Well your title and chart unfortunately show 2 different things and is completely wrong and poorly researched. Per your title Kenny Hill has the highest QBR in the SEC which you would expect since he has the highest overall stats. For the RAT you report, Brandon Harris has a 250 to Jennings 201 so he does not even have the best RAT rating on the LSU team.

Jennings is 4th in the SEC behind the 3 higher ranked teams and 24th in the nation which is not good if you want to make the playoffs. Per your headline, his QB Rating after the first game with Wisconsin was 52 which would have put him at 71 in the nation. Maybe you should not get your information for these major announcements off the Rant. Go check the stat sheets. A&M's Kenny Hill is twice as high as Jennings. This is an inaccurate and now passe, old news, non issue other than you have it posted. If it generates delusional optimism and keeps the fans happy it can't be all bad. Beside the title referring to a different metric (QBR introduced 2011 and retroactively applied to NCAA and High School) than the Chart (Passer Rating: 1973) the claim of Jennings being the Highest rated QB or Passer is invalid because of the NCAA Qualifying Stipulation that was shown at the bottom of the original chart: "Note: To qualify, player must have played in 75% of his team's games and have a minimum of 15.0 pass attempts per game played." Since Jennings only had 13 passing attempts in the Sam Houston game, only his 169 rating for the Wisconsin game qualified. And after tonight's 114 Passer Rating he ranks as he always did, nearer the middle of the SEC. ESPN's criteria is based on taking a minimum of 20 snaps in a game to be ranked because they rate the Quarterback and not just the Passer and they rate the Strength of the Defense and dozens of other variables of QB performance, running is big, like Auburn Option QBs. Just think about this; you can be a Heisman or NC winning quarterback like Cam Newton, Tim Tebow, Nick Marshall, Manziel, Mariota, Petty, and Kenny Hill and lead your team in rushing as well as passing. QBR captures that. One reason Jennings is low is because he has a lot of incompletions and is tackled for losses, all to keep from throwing an incompletion. That is why Harris or anyone can go into a game and complete 4 for 5 passes, scramble for a TD and have a much higher rating but not qualify for ranking on this chart or by ESPN because of lack of snaps or game time. The QBR has a higher correlation to winning than any other metric and raises LSU's ranking for having a strong defense and facing strong defenses. We are a run first and last offense and are not a pass heavy up tempo HUNH spread option high scoring offense like Baylor, A&M, BYU, TXST, Auburn, Carolina, Ole Miss, Mizzou, Ore, OU, etc. Baylor is like watching a pinball machine or video game. Jennings was never higher than 7th in the SEC, or 70th in the nation because he was ineligible for a Passer Rating in game 2. He did not meet the 15 pass attempt NCAA stipulation that was cut off of the bottom of the CFBStats Chart that you have displayed and on which you based this article. CFBStats simply received inaccurate Box Score data that resulted in the inaccurate ranking. The ranking did not make any sense when you consider what Kenny Hill, and Blake Sims, Dak Prescott, and others were doing. Kenny Hill broke every one of Manziel's records in a single game.
