Talented four-star LSU WR target Devonta Smith showcased his skills at the Nike Opening New Orleans Regional over the weekend and left with WR MVP honors and an invite to the The Opening Finals in Beaverton, Oregon.

Smith, a 6-1, 148-pound prospect from Amite, LA made some explosive plays during the event, including this great catch that caught the eye of LSU CB signee Kristian Fulton.

Fulton followed up with a tweet to Smith telling him to come join him in Baton Rouge.

Smith was originally committed to Georgia but reopened his recruitment after Mark Richt left Athens.

6-1 and 148? What's he being recruited for, cross country?

Watch his film before you critique his measurables. Gaining 30-40 pounds between your junior year of high school and freshmen year of college isn't that difficult of a task.

OBJ was probably around 160 lbs his Junior Year of HS. Guess LSU shouldn't have recruited him either?

I was about 5'9 100 lbs as a high school freshman and got up to about 185 by the time I started college.
