Destrehan La. wide receiver Justin Jefferson has joined LSU's 2017 Recruiting class and will report to campus soon to join other members of last year’s signing class.

Justin, who's brother's Jordan and Rickey both played at LSU, did not sign with a school due to his grades but has qualified academically after finishing his senior year this past May. Per SEC Country:
quote:

It was a bit of a transition having been first recruited by Dameyune Craig and now Mickey Joseph. However, Joseph and head man Ed Orgeron remained in regular communication with both Jefferson and the Destrehan High coaches to pounce on the wide receiver as soon as he qualified academically.

“Relief, relief, relief,” Jefferson admitted. “It’s hard not knowing if you’re going to finish out the year at the beginning. Now that it’s at the end, knowing I had all the grades, it’s just relieving.”

The more i think about it.. as hard of a time Jordan had at LSU, u gotta love this family, for staying purple and gold, jordan gave us his best, he was just in the wrong position.. his brothers saw how he was treated, and still chise to come here. I like this family... may they be blessed with warm Gumbo no matter where they are..

I don't blame JJ for Les Miles mistakes. The Jefferson family bleeds purple and gold. Hats off to them for 3 sons who played for the Tigers.

I've always heard that Rickey and Jordan were brothers, not cousins. Anyway, welcome aboard Justin. As for the classroom issues, he has evidently taken care of that. I hope he comes in and plays and conducts himself more like Rickey and less like Jordan and we could have a diamond in the rough!

I was corrected by a player on the team when I made that comment, Ricky was raised by Jordans Dad because his Dad wasnt around, they are cousins but were raised like brothers is what I was told.

That's because your life experiences are limited to kids born into opportunity.

Not at all. My high school was only 40% white and I played football on a team with about 75% black kids. Everybody was exposed to the same teachers and education but some chose not to go to class or pay any attention to the material. In my opinion, it is totally insane that a student is not able to pass a basic level high school class.
