Four-star LSU tight end commit Jake Johnson announced Tuesday evening that he is de-committing from the Tigers.

Jake revealed his decision on Twitter at the same exact time that his brother Max Johnson announced that he is entering the transfer portal.

The 6-5, 210-pound prospect from Bogart, GA (Oconee County) is the No. 1 tight end for the class of 2022, according to Rivals. He originally committed to the Tigers back in April choosing LSU over offers from Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, and many other schools.

No one is quitting. Jake never attended LSU. Have you thought he doesn’t want to play for Kelly? All these LSU commits and players stayed true till Kelly was hired. Then all of sudden Kelly hired and now the fall out with recruits. That’s tells me that Kelly is the issue with them. They stayed committed when you didn’t have a coach.

Kelly is on board and we are simply seeing the adjustment period. There will also be commitments that were not expected as well.

Wasted a lot of time trying to make this kid a winning QB. The talent isn’t there. He will never be a great QB wherever he goes no matter what his Dad thinks.

Their choice. There will be lots of other talented plays wanting to come here and win championships. We will be fine. Trust the process.

Piss off. You’re a drop in the bucket kid. A lack of conviction to a commitment is a life lesson to be learned.
