Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports
On Wednesday night, LSU landed a big commitment from four-star cornerback Cai Bates.

Bates, a 6-2, 180-pound prospect from Orlando, Fla., picked the Tigers over Alabama, Tennessee, Florida State, Ohio State, Texas A&M, and Colorado.

The Edgewater High School prospect is the nation’s No. 107 overall player and the No. 11 cornerback in the country for the class of 2024, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He is LSU's second-highest-ranked prospect in the class.

Bates' verbal pledge gives LSU 20 verbal commitments for the class of 2024.

This class is weak compared to O's classes. Kelly needs to close with some big 5* recruits to sniff the top 10. Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, all in top 5 yearly. Shows on the field.
