Ed Orgeron and the LSU coaching staff received some great news on Tuesday night when elite five-star running back John Emery from Destrehan, LA announced that he has committed to LSU.

Emery, who recently de-committed from Georgia, is rated the No. 1 running back in the country for the class of 2019. He went public with his decision on Twitter:
quote:

"Proud to say I’m staying home. COMMITTED. #God1st #GoTigers"

LSU now has 20 verbal commitments for the class of 2019 with the addition of Emery. He becomes LSU's second running back in the class to go along with four-star prospect Tyrion Davis from Baton Rouge.

Why not, if you are an elite back, you have 4 choices: LSU,Bama, Georgia, and Wisconsin. Why not stay home and be the hero!

If we don't develop an elite offensive line to block Alabama and other top defensive lines, it won't matter. I am super pumped that we have two blue chip backs in this class. Difference makers. But we have to be able to block for them in the biggest games against the best defenses and we have to have an offense prolific enough that defenses can't just predict what play is coming and where it is going. No line and block for that. And for gosh sake can we execute screens at some point?

If I remember correctly, Stingley took a picture in a #7 jersey so I think he may be getting it.
