New LSU athletic director Scott Woodward met with the media on Tuesday afternoon and was asked how he will handle the situation with the basketball program and head coach Will Wade.
quote:

Q. You do inherent a tough situation with the basketball program. How do you plan to manage that moving forward?

SCOTT WOODWARD: Yeah, it's like everything. I know probably less than you do on this, and I need to be briefed and I need to find out what's going on. But Coach Wade is LSU's coach, and until then he's going to have my 100 percent support.

Q. Following up on that, have you met with Will?

SCOTT WOODWARD: I have not. We've seen each other in group meetings and socially, but we have not met.

For the first time in a while I’m excited about LSU athletics as a whole. Woodward isn’t going to sit there with his thumb in his arse if coaches don’t win. I’m confident he’ll make competent hires when it’s time. Everything sets up nicely. I think he and Wade will be here for a longtime. Paul probably only wants to coach a couple more years, O will have the next 2 seasons to win some hardware or they’ll go in another direction. Fargas gets 1 season. If women’s basketball sucks, she’s gone. She has no room for 1 mistake.
