Former LSU guard Josh Gray has signed a 10-day contract with the Phoenix Suns.

Gray, who played at LSU from 2014-2016, has been playing for team's G League affiliate team the NAZ Suns and will contribute in place of Isaiah Canaan who suffered a serious injury this week. Per ArizonaSports.com:

With the NAZ Suns this year, Gray is averaging 17.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.2 steals in 31.8 minutes a game over the course of 31 appearances.

In seven of his last 10 games, Gray has scored 20-plus points for Northern Arizona.

In the first week of January, Gray was named the NBA’s G League Player of the Week. In those two games he played that week, Gray put up video game numbers, posting averages of 24.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 6.0 steals a game, shooting 56.3 percent from the field.

Gray was a troubled young man due to early negative life experiences but always was a baller. The Jones system of ciaos was no good for him (nor was it for anyone else). Good for Josh Gray! Garrett Temple developed into the most polished NBA star from that 2006 Final 4 squad. Who would have thought that was going to happen?!? I hope Gray can find great success too. Geaux Tigers!!!

I always knew he had talent. He had almost all of his best games against good teams. For whatever reason, those were the only games he appeared to be focused in.
