LSU forward Ben Simmons earned another award on Wednesday when he was named Freshman of the Year by Sporting News. Per LSUSports.net:
Simmons has averaged 19.6 PPG and 11.9 RPG this season.

Simmons on Tuesday was named the national Freshman of the Year by USA Today and by ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.
He is also on The Sporting News Freshman All-America team and the magazine’s second-team All-American quintet.
