LSU forward Ben Simmons earned another award on Wednesday when he was named Freshman of the Year by Sporting News. Per LSUSports.net:
Simmons has averaged 19.6 PPG and 11.9 RPG this season.

He is also on The Sporting News Freshman All-America team and the magazine’s second-team All-American quintet.
