Four-star center Shawn Phillips from Dayton, Ohio announced his top five options on this week, which include LSU.

Phillips was previously committed to NC State but reopened his recruitment in April. Now his top landing spots are Georgetown, Kansas State, LSU, Miami, and the Overtime Elite league.

The 6-10, 250-pound prospect is rated the No. 20 center in the country, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Phillips is expected to visit LSU this weekend and make his final decision on May 17th.

Would be good to have a true C that won’t get pushed around. We have length at the F spots which allows us to effectively defend the quality bigs we’ll face.

I hope he comes to LSU. But these kids these days are such divas. Nobody cares about your final 7. Only your final 1.

It’s a new league where the kids give up their college eligibility. If they don’t end up landing a pro contract after a certain amount of time, the league gives them $100k to attend the college of their choice. The fact this kid is even considering this tells me he’d have eligibility issues wherever he goes.
