Former LSU Baseball star Alex Bregman played in the Texas League All-Star Game this week and wasted no time to show off his power with this deep home run in the first inning.

Damn, he's really smashing the ball right now. I would have loved to see this power surge while he was at LSU

I've read that he was taught to hit the ball down in college and now the Astros are teaching more of a swing to give more loft to the ball... plus he put on 20 lbs of muscle during the off season.

Talking Stros: Are you surprised with the power you are showing this year? Bregman: I’m not, neither are the people I train with back home. It goes back to the preparation that I have done this offseason, and we really worked on hitting the ball when it’s inside to the left side of the field for singles and doubles. But when I do pull the ball, we want it in the air. Focus on driving the baseball, in college, they teach you to hit the ball on the ground and hit the ball on the line. I’ve also put on 20 pounds since I left college, those adjustments should help me with the power.

3rd base. He already made the switch to 3rd with Correa being one of the games best ss's already. Will be called up late summer/early fall.
