Although LSU's postseason's projections are looking bleak, head coach Paul Mainieri said it's not over yet. Here's what he had to say at his First Pitch Luncheon on Tuesday.

WOW, throwing PM out is the craziest thing I could imagine for this program. Do any of you that advocate for that have any idea what it takes to not only build a winning program, but maintain it like he has? OK, they have had injuries, the pitching is far weaker than most of us could have imagined, but support the program people. Even Skip, who I love, had a down season now and then. They were in the CWS finals last year with better pitching and veteran hitters. JS

I am dreaming of a time when PM would know when to pull pitchers or leave them in. It's a dream but right now it has been a nightmare.

His team needs lots of practice, dreaming wont prepare you to win a ball game. Maybe thats why lsu has so many losses this year in baseball is cauee he and staff and players are doing too much dreaming and not enough practice

If you were on the team then you would probably be whining because you thought the practices were too long.

Yes, as a D1 program where practice times are pretty regulated, we decided to screw practice. Good observation dip shite.

Are you kidding...at OleMiss over 100 pitches and we just let the kid (Gilbert) hang in and give up 5 freakin runs??? Not Gilberts fault, that game was all on the head ball coach....come on, we coulda let the relievers try and we may have lost the game...duh, we lost anyway!!!

Oh so you’d feel better if CPM wasn’t the coach? Good thing it’s not about your feelings. We have had a consistent winning program under him. I guess your feelings will just have to be hurt until he retires. Or, you could try to enjoy the success we’ve had like most of the rest of us.

Paul Mainieri takes us to the CWS championship in a year we didn't expect to even make the CWS, not good enough for some of our fans......
