LSU outfielder Jake Brown spoke with the media on Wednesday and shared a very cool story about the leadership that freshman pitcher Zion Theophilus displayed to the team following last week's cold stretch.

According to Brown, Theophilus wrote a note to every player on the team, listing everything they’re good at and what people like about them...

At the bottom of the note, Theophilus wrote, "Believe it."

Good lesson for those in supervisory or management positions. If I was not retired, I would do it myself.

When I was a young engineer a senior vice president over our division of a large chemical company, wrote me a handwritten note on my 5 year anniversary with the company. When I became a manager, I wrote thank you notes randomly to my employees and they wrote thank you notes to their peers. Several went on the leadership positions including VPs in companies. It all started with a simple note on my work anniversary. You young leaders - if you’re not working to help your employees (and children obviously) be better than you, why are you working?

Because it’s the only way to make money. I doubt many consume their lives in their work over prioritizing their home/family life

That answer really is irrelevant. You can do both. But when you are at work, you give the best you have while at work.

Agreed. If we have to work one way or another to make money, why not embrace it and thrive
