LSU announced that sophomore right-hander Ma’Khail Hilliard will make his first start of the season on Wednesday night vs. Holy Cross. Per LSUSports.net:

• Sophomore right-hander Ma’Khail Hilliard will make his 13th career start and first start of the season Wednesday night. He threw three innings in two appearances last week, walking two and striking out four. In 2018, Hilliard had a 9-5 record with a 3.75 ERA. He threw 76 innings, walked 31 and struck out 70.
First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. CT at Alex Box Stadium. The game will be available on SEC Network +.

This guy has the ice cold Cole Tracy blood in his veins. Have never liked Hess as a starter because he seems to get rattled to easily at the start. I like Hilliard and hope to see him earn a weekend starting position.

After the Texas disgrace, CPM has scheduled a game with a high school (Holly Cross). Next week he will get a series with Jesuit. Way to go CPM. You still might want to consider hiring a real batting coach vs the administrator you hired.
