Speaking with the media on Friday in Omaha, LSU head coach Paul Mainieri said that sophomore RHP Jared Poche' (9-1, 2.91) will be on the mound for the Tigers opening round College World Series game against TCU.

TCU's Preston Morrison (11-3, 2.55) will start for the Horned Frogs.

First pitch between LSU and TCU will come at 2pm on Sunday and the game will be televised on ESPN.

There is only one place that matters, I like this move a lot......and Lange has responded very well with additional rest. Poche has been nails the last two starts too!

Ok, I am confused is Jared Poche a LHP or RHP? You have both.
I love this strategy by our coach. Jared has been pitching lights out, and we still have Lange to go in either a elimination game or a chance to go up 2-0 in the winners bracket!

I think it's a good strategy.... Heavy lefty lineup and Ta&m's lefty gave them fits and I believe Poche is very similar to that pitcher. Also Poche has been pitching really good as of late and is probably the most poised def the most veteran pitcher we have. Then if you win will probably be facing Vandy which I believe Lange has the stuff to beat that lineup so yea it's a great strategy IMO.
