this suggestion isn't as silly as it may seem. I recall even 20 years ago people suggesting raising the rim and widening the court. PLayers today are bigger and MUCH more athletic than before. The 10-foot goal wasn't set by god, it can be changed and the game will survive.

I completely disagree about raising the rim. FWIW, the women's game would be much more entertaining if they lowered the rims a foot.
