This happened back in January, but I'm sure it's resurfacing now due to the amount of attacks on refs in high school football games. But during St. Mary’s College's game against Sault High of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario a referee hits/slaps a player while trying to break up a fight on the ice. Once the teammates see this they go after him...

Supposedly two players were suspended for two games and the ref got a 2-month ban.

It's strange to see a referee attacked like that (even after he slapped the player), but there have been fights in hockey games since the beginning of time, so for me, that wasn't shocking to see as opposed to what's been happening at the football games recently.

That kid was holding on to the ref...
And he's fully padded.. And the ref gets jumped by 3 ice hooligans.

Both are at fault.
This is not the same as the he football incidents
