Arizona's New Helmets Are Copper

The University of Arizona will wear these copper helmets as part of an alternate uniform this coming year, athletic director Greg Byrne told the Star.

“(Copper) is something that’s strongly tied to our university and our state, and certainly fits within the historical context,” he said.

The UA did not consider any darker tones.

“Anybody can do black,” Byrne said.

And get this - the helmets took six months to develop. Really? To just turn them into pennies with same logo? Terrible.
