Virginia Tech’s Justin Fuente Is Being Linked To The Arkansas Head Coaching Job
© Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports
College football reporter Dan Wolken has heard talk about Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente being a potential target for Arkansas. Per USA Today...
quote:

One name that has consistently come up as a potential target is Virginia Tech’s Justin Fuente. Though Arkansas would be a tougher place to win, Fuente has deep family ties nearby in his native Oklahoma and could get away from a Virginia Tech fan base that hasn’t completely appreciated how difficult a job he faced after Frank Beamer let the program slip over his final few years. Arkansas could undoubtedly offer Fuente more than the $4 million a year he currently makes

They need a big name to recruit. Unless they recruit in the Mid Atlantic none of these kids will know wtf he is. Good luck piggies. Choose wisely this time. Every time you guys gamble you roll snake eyes.

Don't assume these kids are as dumb as you. Fuente played at Okie and Murray State, was a well-regarded assistant at TCU, and coached at Memphis and Virginia Tech. People who actually know football know who he is.

He doesn't even recruit the state of Virginia well and there are way more athletes here than in Arkansas.

would be an awful move. Arkansas has no shot with us, Bama, Auburn, A&M, even Ole Miss and Miss State in the West. Stay in the weaker ACC and keep cashing those checks.

Biggest death knell was the addition of A&M to the SEC drying up the Texas pipeline.
