Alabama sophomore wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was named the winner of the 2018 Biletnikoff Award on Thursday night, presented annually to the top receiver in college football.

Jeudy has caught 59 receptions for 1103 yards with 12 touchdowns this season.

He beat out finalist Andy Isabella from UMass and Tylan Wallace from Oklahoma State.

You could give Jeudy 10,000 attempts and he couldn't spell Biletnikoff correctly.

Second-fewest receptions and receiving yards of any winner in the award's 25-year history. Fewest receiving TDs of any winner since 2005. We all know that these awards more often have to do with production on the field than sheer talent alone. The unequivocal fact is that Jeudy had NO business winning this award giving his lack of production. He had nearly 600 fewer receiving yards and 43 fewer receptions than Isabella. I'm not even sure that Wallace was deserving of the other finalist slot, but apart from TDs (11 to Jeudy's 12), his numbers are also better despite playing one fewer game.

Waddle as a FR scares me. 2 more years of trying to cover that guy.

The way he extends RAC is incredible.

I missed the awards show. Did he sound coherent when he spoke? Was anyone able to understand his speech?

How did he win it over Isabella and Wallace? I guess it's the product of being good and going to Bama. Isabella should have won that hands down

Isabella was one of the best players on the field when they played Georgia. They couldn't stop him at all: 15-219 2 TDs.
