Jones Creek road between Tiger Bend and Coursey might be the worst road in BR as far as pot holes and road conditions. Feels like you are on an old wooden rollercoaster.

Hasn't it been under construction for most of this century? Is it still not finished?

I think they gave up. Haha. It is an awful stretch of road.

I believe the construction to redo it is caught up in a lawsuit between construction companies at the moment.

Come to think of it, you're right. I really can't remember a time since around 2000 that I haven't seen orange construction cones and signs on that road.

I live in Green Trails, work out at South Oaks and enjoy being out of the main part of the city. I have a quick commute to work, Ralph's is a nice grocery store and we even have our own little movie Theater over there. I would hate the commute from Denham or anywhere else. Central is probably my favorite place around Baton Rouge.

Honestly Baton Rouge is my least favorite place I have ever lived.

Grand Cinema is the only theatre I will go to in BR. It is great especially at about 330-4 during week right after work.

One pay day loan place closed but oriental massage moved in. Neighborhood walmart and new bank going up across sherwood. Hair college occupied former school. Stumberg extention soon to open to airline an pecue, to what effect. Winn Dixie just renovated its store. walk on's gone but sante fe occupied. sister forseer's tarot card reader sign is gone, which is probably good. the area may hang in there due to no really bad zones being within easy reach going north south. Limited north/south connectivity may save this part of town in the long run.

Capital Heights is affordable for families. But most buyers want new construction.

within a block or two, no telling what those houses will be used for since they were zoned commercial.

Driving through there, I can see why. Lots of space between houses, lots of trees. Parts of central remind me of what St. Amant use to be like. Of the suburbs, Central is probably the most convenient to people who work in downtown, Dow, or Port Allen.

Yall have horrible taste if you think homes in Sherwood have "character."

My grandparent's house does. Probably because it was one of the earliest built ('54) and by my grandfather (architect). There are a few other homes I would say have character as well but with a neighborhood as large as Sherwood or Shenandoah you're gonna have some monotony. Especially considering Sherwood still had new development 15 years ago and started development over 60 years ago.

Lucky you. My grandma's house in Broadmoor was about as bland as could be, as were 9/10 of the other houses on her street.
