re: What do you gym rats think of the "dad bod?" - Papercutninja
I live by a simple mantra: One can bald or one can be fat, but one cannot be both. I stagger my gym mornings so that I can make up a work out on the weekend but normally it's 5am. I remember my dad was like a super hero growing up, that's how I want my kids to remember me. You're going to be old...

Kolache Kitchen on Jefferson - Papercutninja
I went to Kolache Kitchen's new location on Jefferson today, not once but twice. This morning, after camping out in my house without power, I was starving so I zipped in to get a breakfast taco. I got chorizo and egg, it was really good and came with a side of salsa. It was $3.00. I probably could h...

re: Civil war documentary sheds unfavorable light on today's politics/leaders - Papercutninja
The common link is that all these men were soldiers. There are no remaining vestiges of the warrior ethos in today's politicians. Concepts of honor and duty get sucked out by the money machine until all that's left is a dried husk devoid of principles. I hope that as this next generation of vete...

re: Just got back from 5 days in SW Utah (Zion, Bryce, and Grand Staircase) - Papercutninja
I went in 2007 and did Bryce, Arches, Grand Esclante and another that escapes me. The slot canyons are awesome. We did Spooky and Peekaboo. There was also one day we did a 13 mile death march but I loved every minute of it. ETA: How many Germans did you run into? They love it out there....

re: Handgun Suggestions for a Lady - Papercutninja
She isn't comfortable with a shotgun although I have plenty. She envisions this gun as a home defense/car gun for long trips. She travels between BR and the great white north of Natchtoches parish quite often with our youngins. Something about it being the only place she can get rice in her chili or...

re: Handgun Suggestions for a Lady - Papercutninja
Yeah, she is a uncomfortable with a .38 because of the trigger pull. I am going to have to go to Cabelas or some place with a lot of guns and let her get a handle on them. Now how to get the old farts from the counter so we can get some service.......

Handgun Suggestions for a Lady - Papercutninja
After a period of many years I have finally been able to convince my dear wife that the Raven Arms MP-25 that she inherited from her grandmother is substandard for her continued use and protection of our children and property in my absence. This period of negotiation was of an intesity seconded only...
