If you want to see a clean city, go to Milwaukee.

Milwaukee is a hamlet, in comparison to Chicago.

I was thinking of going next month to check out Taste of Chicago. Has anyone been to that?

I heard it is great from a few people, but flights and hotels around that time were outrageous

Visiting here this weekend for the first time with my wife, I am astounded at how beautiful this city is. Visually, it looks similar to Seattle or San Diego but is much bigger and actually cleaner. Unfortunately the Cubs aren't in town, but I would definitely make a trip back here.

I'm equally impressed by the women here as well; tons of beautiful women

I felt the exact same way, when I visited over the Easter weekend.

Lou minatis has by far the best pizza in Chicago, imho.

For a tourist. There is much better pizza in the city than the tourist traps.

Do they still have the "Every Litter Bit Hurts" slogan?

Taste of Chicago is one of the worst big events in Chicago. Don't do it.

The northern half of Milwaukee is definitely not clean. Minneapolis is a much cleaner city.

Chicago is awesome...except for those brutal winters

If I hand the $ I'd get a summer home there. Nov-April I want no part of it.

Was in Chicago in November. Like the OP, I was completely impressed. Still smitten with the place. One of the few cities I would move to without hesitation.

Fwiw, I tried Gino's and didn't like it, giardanos was pretty good, but the butter crust at Lou minatis was on the spot.

I have family that lives in the burbs to the north of Chicago and it is a vast swath of some of the nicest suburbs I've ever been around. They are not soul-less like the newer suburbs in the South and out West.

Pequod's or bust for me. Though if I have to do a chain it is definitely Lou Minaltis.
