Granted, baseball isn't what it once was 15 or 20 years ago.
I think you mean 20-30 years ago....

re: Your top 5 OVERRATED tourist destinations (US Only) - 632627
Vegas isn't really overrated to me, everyone knows Vegas is fake as shite. But it's fake as shite with plenty of fun stuff to do and good restaurants. Also, most everyone knows it can get really depressing after a little while.
My thoughts exactly. For the people that think Vegas a...
agreed, yet it's ALWAYS the first place recommended here.
I went for the raw bar happy hour, but also really enjoyed the Caesar salad (and it was only $8 for a generous portion) and their cheese plate. As i didn't get an entree, I can't speak on the rest of the menu. But for a...
WTF? The Grand Canyon is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. If you are finding GC overrated....you are doing it wrong. How is this overrated??
Because the third picture is the best representation of what it looks like in person, and I found it to be not nearly as beaut...

re: Does the average TD poster watch ESPN's THE 6 - 632627
If they could just take the idea of the Max and Marcellus radio show and somehow convert that to TV, that would be an excellent TV show. They talked sports mostly (obviously) but they discussed music, pop culture, social issues w/o directly talking about politics and it wasn't forced, it just...

re: Your top 5 OVERRATED tourist destinations (US Only) - 632627
You have the city/urban aspect, you have beaches nearby, you have mountains/hills, you have "touristy" spots, you have some light hiking, etc.
this is why i think LA is a great place to live, because of all the variety, a resident has so much to do and can never get bored. Howeve...

re: Does the average TD poster watch ESPN's THE 6 - 632627
Just give me the meat and potatoes of sports. Highlights and interviews.
As many have mentioned in other threads, the highlight shows of old are never coming back. They have been rendered useless by the internet and social media, and all the ways to consume highlights, interviews...

Navy pier Chicago Miami - the whole city Los Angeles (I love living here, but not sure why anyone would want to vacation here) Times Square NYC- I guess you gotta go once, but it's the worst part of our greatest city Grand Canyon- I love natural beauty, but it just didn't do anything for me ...

re: Spending a weekend in the Los Angeles area soon. - 632627
You should stay on the westside, ideally Santa Monica; that way at least you'll be driving against traffic if you plan to drive far and you'll be centrally located. You can do the Pier, the Promenade, Main Street Santa Monica is cool too, you'll be close enough to the Getty and the Getty Vill...

re: Spending a weekend in the Los Angeles area soon. - 632627
It varies. 1.5 to 3 depending on traffic.
Lol. It's 1.5 if you drive Sunday morning at 4am. During normal hours it's at least 3.5 hours, it took me 6 hours once on a Friday late morning departure....
Glad Clydes was good at least. Same ownership group as Old Ebbitt. Maestros is a great steakhouse but lots of great local options too if you return.
Ironically, I also went to del friscos (another chain steakhouse) and while the waiter there was fantastic, the first floor hoste...

Every single place I attended, with the exception of clydes in Georgetown and mastros steakhouse. Many of the hostesses at restaurants were aloof. Waitress at old ebbits was awful. Baristas at milkbar provided the second worst service I've ever experienced. Worst would be the lady at the retai...
There's the stock and there's the product. Product is still far and away better than anything else out there imo and to anyone that is not super tech savvy like boomers. re: Opinions on Washington DC - 632627
Definitely agree uber is great, it's no more than $7 to/from any notable destination in the city. I didn't find the food to be that expensive, at least compared to other major cities. We had a great meal at old ebbit's which I found to be very reasonably priced. Tons of great happy hours througho...

Opinions on Washington DC - 632627
Just finishing up a trip here, first time here in over 20 years. Fantastic city, easily walkable, I'd probably rank it #2 (tied with Boston) as must see American cities, with NYC being #1. Only thing I found odd was the service at almost every establishment to be very poor; even at the nicer s...

Congratulations on visiting the greatest city in America (and probably the world), anyone that says otherwise is a fool. Glad you enjoyed yourself. Rubirosa and eataly are 2 of my go to recommendations in all the NYC threads....
