Pequods is really good for deep dish. I tend to like thin crust better and go for Piece or Parlor. My favorite pizza is mellow mushroom but we don't have that in Chicago.

Pequod's is my go-to for deep dish here, too.

I actually like Malnati's, too, if someone has it. My work orders that stuff all the time. Their crust is really good. It's not on Pequod's level, though.

For non-Chicago style pizza, I've grown to like Home Slice and Brick's as well. For whatever reason Home Slice always has the hottest women this side of the interstate as well.

Also, Butcher and the Burger has some unreal burgers. Absolutely love that place.

Chicago in the Summer is awesome. Downtown may be the best of any city in the US, Winters do suck but it is Chicago.

I've been out of the country for 3 years and this thread is making me really miss Chicago. Along with seeing all my friends' social media posts about Chicago summer things. Any of the Chicago posters check out the 606 yet?

My dad grew up in Half Day/Lincolnshire (north suburb) and now lives in Lincolnwood (1st village directly north of Chicago proper). My wife & I absolutely love Chicago, unfortunately we don't get up there as often as we'd like. She'd move there tomorrow if possible (although she's never been exposed to the worst parts of winter). The summers are out of this world awesome.

As familiar as I am with the city, I always feel like I've missed something I wanted to do when I get back to BR. I always kick myself for forgetting to check TD for other ideas on what to do while up there. The food is awesome, museums are awesome, downtown/Gold Coast/lake shore, etc. it's all great.

Can someone clue me in on this? Is the talent home grown or are they mostly transplants from the Midwest? Or is it tourists I'm seeing.

Most of them are from Midwest transplants with the best coming from Michigan.

A mixture of both, but University of Wisconsin, Michigan State, IU, Iowa, and Miami (OH) produce legions upon legions of attractive girls that swarm this city. Those five schools have the most attractive girls of any schools in the Midwest, and most come here after graduation. Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio State, and Mizzou produce a lot of talent here as well. It's a roughly equal mixture of Chicago suburban talent, Midwestern transplants, and transplants from other parts of the U.S.

Chicago is the world capital for marketing and PR, and those industries are dominated by younger women, so that helps a lot. There's a lot of healthcare and consulting here, too, and both of those fields tend to have a lot of women. I swear to God that Groupon only hires attractive women; if you meet a 9+ at a bar or somewhere, there's a 50/50 shot that she's an employee at Groupon.

Being single in Chicago is quite an experience. Even when you lose, you win.

It's a great food town too. Go to Smith & Wolenski's if you want a great steak

That's the equivalent of going to Bubba Gumps for some excellent seafood on your next visit to NOLA

I'm nearing the end of my second year living in Chicago and absolutely love it.

There are countless number of vantage points to catch the skyline.

What makes Chicago summers so great are the number of festivals. There are multiple each weekend, or so it seems, and they run into September.

That being said, it is a pretty gross city at times. For one, the rat population is out of control. Second, places like Wrigleyville turn into a complete shite hole full of trashy people on Cubs game days.

As far as crime, it isn't like it is confined to just a single part of the city. When outsiders look at Chicago, they look at its south side as the epicenter of crime. While somewhat true, Latin Kings rule the west side of the city and Rogers Park (far north side) isn't too safe itself. Once you get north of Lakeview, things get a little sketchier in Uptown.

All in all, I'm very glad I moved here. Definitely a good place for someone in their mid-20s a couple years removed from college.

University of Minnesota has some of the most attractive girls I've seen. Unfortunately, most stay in the Twin Cities.

If you want to see a clean city, go to Milwaukee.

Oddly, Milwaukee is slated to become much more aesthetically pleasing. They have some great redevelopment plans in place, the most publicized being the new Bucks arena and the area surrounding it.

There is a lot of potential with Milwaukee, though. It's right on Lake Michigan and the rivers that travel through it.

I came with low expectations as well, and was anticipating the city to be aesthetically similar to New York; dirty, crowded, fast paced. It's completely the opposite, which was a pleasant surprise.

Chicago is different in the fact that it is truly a neighborhood city.

While there is a lot of hustle and bustle downtown (Loop) during the work week, the weeknights and weekends are dominated in the neighborhoods (River North, Gold Coast, Old Town, Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Wicker Park, Bucktown, Logan Square, Uptown, etc.).

Sorry but … well, how far off Michigan Ave. and the Gold Coast did you venture? I like Chicago and all, lived there a couple years, but Hunter Thompson said it best when he described the city as a boneyard. Actually, that's one of the things I always liked about the town, it never tried to be anything it wasn't.

I'm equally impressed by the women here as well; tons of beautiful women

Roger that. Best town for women in the U.S.--far and away.

Got back from Chicago after a trip this weekend. Loved it. Lived up to billing.

Did architectural river tour, ledge (Willis), Wrigley, Art Institute, the parks, the beach.

Just a great trip. I don't want to call a very major city "underrated," but I think a lot of people just sort of go "eh, I've been to NYC, London, LA, etc., I can't imagine Chicago is going to be impressive." That was sort of my attitude, but we really enjoyed it.

The one thing that didn't live up to billing was the women, surprisingly. Not that I didn't see attractive women, but it just didn't really stand out to me against other cities I frequent (Atlanta, Nashville, DC).
