re: Anyone ever tried a sensory deprivation chamber? What's it like? - keakdasneak
[link=(https://youtu.be/gUBNLC3JfMw)]LINK[/link] You don't kill the monkey mind. You make friends with it. This applies very much to floating. Your mind will race in there. Many people express to me "I couldn't get mind to shut up". Yes of course. Don't try. Just learn to observe....

re: Anyone ever tried a sensory deprivation chamber? What's it like? - keakdasneak
Each center will have its own process. I'll answer based on ours. We ask that you arrive 15 minutes early. Your room has a shower. You'll shower before your float. Please take a real shower. The water is cleaned through redundant processes but you taking a good shower helps keep oils out of the tank...

re: Anyone ever tried a sensory deprivation chamber? What's it like? - keakdasneak
It took me about 4 floats before my neck felt comfortable. It does get better the more you float. I recommend floating arms up however that's comfortable. I do switch it up during my floats. There are new float pillows designed for floating. They are called the Floatease. They're amazing. Ask if...

Thank you. I enjoy the adventure of self exploration. I'm very passionate about sharing floating because it's a modality that is much more accessible than psychedelics or meditation ...
If you wanted to get out of the chamber before the scheduled end, how do you let the people know?
You can get out at any point. You are not confined to the space. The modern tanks also have lights inside that you're in control of. When I know someone is anxious I advise them to sta...

re: Anyone ever tried a sensory deprivation chamber? What's it like? - keakdasneak
So would you say that your chambers are worth a shot for someone who experiences anxiety/panic attacks?
Absolutely. The effects on the brain are the same as anti-anxiety medications. I would qualify that a bit. Go somewhere that has a modern cabin/room style tank. They're not as in...
Joe Rogan gave an interview where he discussed taking LSD in a sensory deprivation chamber. He claims it was life altering because you lose all sense of time. Your brain also has trouble sensing where your skin ends and the water begins so it is constantly firing off the nerve endings. Th...
What are the immediate benefits of SD and are there any potential negative side effects?
The science on floating is very new. There is a division of the Laureate Institute for Brain Research totally devoted to studying floating but it has only existed for 3 years. So the data of ...

re: Floating meditation tank coming to he Bywater - keakdasneak
I wonder how many people float before they change the water.
If properly maintained the water doesn't need to be changed. It's filtered 5-7 times through a pool filter. The magnesium itself kills most things. Then it's treated with ozone, h2o2, and uv light. ...

re: Chicago is an awesome city - keakdasneak
Not certain when you lived in the city, but North Center and Ravenswood (the neighborhoods in the locale you identify) are by no means "rough areas." They are fairly coveted residential areas with single family homes valued between $500k and $1MM+. Additionally, I'm not certain why anyone...

re: What will happen to the poor, unskilled people when the robots come? - keakdasneak
Part of the answer is guaranteed income. I know that's hard to swallow for ultracapitalist Americans but I think the overlords will eventually see that's a better alternative to the masses cutting off their heads. ...
