Napoleon, JP does it as well, but don't enforce as much.
Had to modify my inlaws fence and extend their driveway into backyard for their small RV and they live on a large piece of property.
But it wasn't behind their fence.

Again look at these and tell me if it would have been an issue if people did what the 2nd pic did?

Not really. It's a pretty big thing for me. I would definitely pay more to be in an equal house in a neighborhood where people don't park thein toys in the front of their house. There's a direct relation to the amount of campers and boats in people's driveways and the price to live in that area.

Fishing in more than one place is trashy.

My HOA has a rule against it. I don't have one, but DGAF if others leave them in their driveway. Why should that bother someone?

It sounds like this guy uses his jetskis once every couple of years and wants the people who use their boats regularly to find a marina 3 states away to store them during the week.

My question is "Does it matter whether the vehicle is a junky boat or a junky car"?
Why is one allowed and the other isn't? Both are vehicles that have become eyesores. Mandate acceptable standards but do not limit legititmate boat owner's rights

no it sounds like this guy lives in houston but has a vacation home in florida, so when he's in houston he doesn't play with jet skis and when he goes to florida he plays with them but instead of taking up the elevator and leaving them parked inside his condo, he pays the enormous sum of $260/mo to park them.

That's next on the agenda for Kenner to ban

if you're asking me, I think the trashy project cars need to be banned as well. Again, oddly enough when you drive through nicer areas you dont see the trashy boats or cars. If this wasn't such a rampant issue, they wouldn't have made a point of changing the rule? All this took was a collaboration on the parts of people to cover their eye sore boats and this would have never happened. Should the government have begun to fine people instead? I do believe that, but they chose this route, what can you do?

quote:No doubt. But what keeps the property values high? Demand. What drives demand? A strong local economy i.e. jobs. I once had an offer of $150K/year but didn't move to the town because of all the boats parked in the front of houses....said no one fricking ever.
It is in the best interest of the government for the property values (read: property taxes) to remain high

people who make $150k/year dont live in $150k homes with boats that cost $5000 rotting away in the front yard -- said 99% of people who made over $150k

You moved to Houston to get away from our trashiness can you please stay out of our threads as well please? This doesnt concern you anymore. Stick to your wednesday poker night where you and your Aggie brothers take turns seeing how many chips you can shove up each other bums.

A quick search shows that it would cost $150/mo to park your boat at a public storage center.
That's gotta suck for Kenner boatowners

lol dont even bother, their "rights" are more important than $150/mo

I like how you put quotations to refer to property rights - you know, the basis of Anglo-American culture and government. Sorry, negative rights don't stop existing just because it affects a bottom line.

exert control to protect the rest of us from those boat owners who dont know how to properly upkeep a boat and keep it clean and put a cover on it.

I'm genuinely interested in asking this - is there precedent for litigation for indirect loss of property value? I'm going to guess no.
