Let him walk.

It's mind-boggling to me that anyone would even consider giving Kaepernick $15 million, much less 20. He's not a great quarterback by any means, especially as teams get better at defending the run.

I like a quarterback that doesn't look to the first option only.
I think Kaep is gifted athletically, but he's not a very good quarterback.
Quarterbacks I'd take over Kaep:
Manning
Brady
Brees
Rodgers
Rivers
Big Ben
Romo
Ryan
Stafford
Luck
Wilson
Eli
Newton
Possibly:
Flacco
Cutler

You don't really know what you're talking about. He has has often looked past his first option and reads defenses well. He does have periods where he regresses and doesn't look past his first read but he has improved a great deal on that over just 22 career starts.
if he can continue to improve he will definitely be worth the money. As of right now i'd give him a 3 year deal for about 28-30 million with 10 guaranteed.

Your QB is worth every penny of that and more
I'm very happy for you

You're the guy that struggled to mention Brees as a top 30 all time quarterback.
Look it's your opinion and that's fine, I just call it how I see it.
The 49ers are a great team, but they are built from their offensive and defensive lines. They also have a hell of a coach, despite the fact that he's an arrogant douche. He turned Alex Smith into a decent player. I've seen pretty much every game Kaepernick has played in. He struggles with his reads, and he struggles often. It's not just me saying this either. That has been a big knock on his game.
He regressed this season, just like I predicted he would. Even after the circle jerk because of his performance against Green Bay I was called names for saying he's being incredibly overrated, and that he would take a step back. Looks like I knew what I was talking about though, that he benefits from being on a stacked roster with great offensive/defensive lines, and a phenomenal defense.

20th in pass attempts.
And Kaep thinks he's worth 20 mil for that? No.
I'd franchise tag him if I were the niners.

Seattle is in the same boat. I don't think Wilson comes out asking for 20 million like Kaep, but Wilson will pull probably 11-13 million per.
His agent will be in his ear saying, "Flacco is a BUM and he's making THIS MUCH!!".

THAT...
if you don't pay your good QB when you have one you become Cleveland or Buffalo...

Does he think that Top 5 =
31st in Comp %
20th in Yards (32nd in y/game)
8th in Y/att
17th in TDs
11th most sacks
..or is he hoping to play better?
ETA: Stats from ESPN
ETA2: If you add his rushing yards to his passing totals, he moves to 17 or so.

the ravens were idots for paying Flacco that much and it will hurt them in the long run. Paying QB's big money hurts NFL teams. It sells tickets but rarely wins championships
Posted on 3/6/14 at 11:11 am to hawkeye007
That's why Baltimore's move was so dumb. He gave you the SB and you knew the team was rebuilding, and Flacco does NOT sell tickets.

I'd let his arse walk. Guys like Kaep, Newton, and RG3 will never win a SB because they don't have the mental capabilities to do so.
SF should keep their best players and draft a game manager. they will be just fine if they do that.

Now post Jay Cutler's stats

What has Cutler or Romo ever done to make them worth it?
Cutler and romo both make it to the Super Bowl on that niners team
You think kaep wins playoff games in Dallas the last couple years? No
Alex smith brought the niners to the NFC champ game and people were calling him one of the biggest busts in recent memory
