Updating a previous item, CBS' Jason La Canfora says Colin Kaepernick won't settle for anything less than $20M per season annually in a new contract.

Earlier reports had Kaepernick seeking anywhere from $17-$19M in average annual salary. La Canfora says Kaep "believes he is a top-five quarterback" and will be perfectly happy to "bet on himself" by playing out the final year of his rookie deal for $973,766. It's the right move. Kaepernick is just 26 years old, is 21-9 as a starter (including playoffs) and franchise quarterbacks get what they want these days. The Niners will pony up.

no way he gets that. and if he does they wont be able to pay other good players and he wont have the talent around him that he has now

Seattle is in the same boat. I don't think Wilson comes out asking for 20 million like Kaep, but Wilson will pull probably 11-13 million per.

eta: Not to mention, Sherman is going to want to be paid pretty soon, as well as Earl Thomas.

They're going to take a big hit if they do.

I would expect Wilson to get $16 mil at the very least.

Get real. He'll get the same that other elite QBs are getting.

Yeah its not like seeing them in the conference title game is a big surprise. They have very serviceable QBs for very cheap which makes them able to pay a bunch of other players

So it is okay for Joe Flacco to get 20 million per year, but Russell Wilson has to settle for 11-13?

He will get closer to double that than he will to those numbers.

well he's certainly worth it. Only about 25 of the32 starting QBs in the NFL could have won the super bowl with the niners
