but there are 2 sides of the market ledger. If he is unsatisfied with his current salary/contract, in the spirit of the market, let him decide to stay or depart based on his position, not based on LSU increasing his salary.

Oh great another open letter that will not be read by the person it's intended for.

Tennessee ups their guy to 3+ million, A&M ups their guy to 5+ million, and Saban is at 8 million, but you are going to cry if LSU adds anything to the most successful guy in LSU history?
Some of you guys have no fricking clue how hard it is to find coaches that go 103-28 playing in the best conference in college football.

Maybe. But if short enough, sometimes the intended recipient will actually read it through some forwarding and we will not know as much, either way.
If that is the case, then treat it like 99.9999% of the posts which Miles and the QB do not see from rants on this site. :-)

I 100% agree with this and was talking about it earlier today. If Michigan offers, and he wants the job, he should take it. LSU should NOT offer any more raises to stay here. If he chooses to stay, then fine, but he has done nothing to deserve any sort of raises/extensions to stay here at LSU

Dear Sir: Coach Miles is a brand unto himself, and has a 10-year record that is to be applauded. At the same time, he does not deserve any additional raises if he decides to consider the Michigan job. Since this is the third dance with the Michigan position, and since the first two dances yielded He and his agent with extensions and notable increases in salary, the Tradition Fund and TAF members are concerned that their monies will once again be directed to increases based upon potential loss of our coach. The money for an increase does not come from nowhere, so full cost accounting certainly means that in some manner, the correlation to TAF/Tradition and ticket prices DO extend from the salary of the highest paid person on the state payroll. Please call the bluff, or relent and let him go, if this occurs again. If he loves LSU, his current salary is perfectly suitable, and he should be perfectly happy with staying based on his current contract. If he chooses to go to Michigan, lets be understanding and thank him for being a great representative of LSU, and wish him the best as he moves back "home" to where it all started for him. If he stays, great. If he leaves, good luck. In either case, please do not change his contract. Thanks for your consideration.

Jesus we have a good portion of our fan base that has received lobotomy's in the past

Football freak, you said it pretty nicely and I agree with you. The economics of this country is in a really bad shite hole and salaries of football coaches are just one of the things that can not be justified for any reason--no matter how much we love our football.

I want to know how many of those CLM lovers and not protesting a raise for him are fuking TAF payers!!!

Your sense of self-importance and lack of a basic understanding of how an athletic dept. works gives me the lulz

You know if you're going to complain about people's intelligence, you should probably try to appear somewhat intelligent yourself.
