re: Top 5 Favorite States - and 5 Least Favorite - MountainTiger
I don't want 12 months of beach weather
Amen to that. In an ideal world, I wouldn't want any months of beach weather. I heard about a guy who was truly living my dream. He taught ski lessons here during our winter and then went to New Zealand to teach ski lessons during their winter....

re: Top 5 Favorite States - and 5 Least Favorite - MountainTiger
Maybe it's different if you live there.
You know what they say: there's no place like home. I haven't lived in La. in a long time but every time I visit I feel like moving back. There are a lot of problems there but it just feels comfortable to me. And the food! The oysters here ar...
Shine on you crazy diamond- case closed.
Has to be this. What other song starts off with someone playing wine glasses? The 11/8 bass part at the beginning of Whipping Post is pretty iconic too....

re: UF Series Takeaways - MountainTiger
You mean other than the fact that a run expectancy is greater to not bunt than it is to bunt?
Run expectancy is basically the same as expected value of a decision and is not the same thing as the probability of scoring one or more runs. The latter is what you are more concerned with...

re: F15 providing cover / protection during Space Shuttle launch - MountainTiger
One thing I wanted to see was a live shuttle launch.... Never did..
Same here. I went to one, got tickets to go out on the causeway to watch the launch but they postponed it. It was a resupply mission to the ISS so there was a very small launch window. They called off the launch beca...

re: Guitarists what amp are you using? - MountainTiger
I have a few... My practice amp, for when I'm feeling lazy, is a Fender GDec 30. This is a solid state modeling amp. It's good for practice because I can get a bunch of different sounds just by turning a knob. The best-sounding amp I have is a 40 watt Marshall JCM2000. It runs on a quad of EL8...

re: Early signing period for football a terrible idea - MountainTiger
There's probably a good reason for it but can somebody tell me why there needs to be a signing period at all? Why can't we just let them sign their LOI when they're ready to commit?...
Golf is more fun to watch without Tiger. It is right now with a plethora of young talented golfers.
No doubt. Golf is really exciting right now with guys like Rory, Day, Spieth, DJ. But I think it was better before Tiger too. You had a whole bunch of guys who could win o...

Good news for you guys. Avery is one of the best breweries out here. Their sours are quite good. I judged the Raspberry Sour at a festival last fall and loved it. Got a silver iirc....

re: Navy tests new electromagnetic railgun that can fire projectiles from ships at 4,500mph - MountainTiger
Is this our answer to demolishing rouge asteroids headed towards earth?
Turning a large asteroid (regardless of color) into a bunch of smaller asteroids isn't much of an improvement. Also 4500 mph is nowhere near escape velocity. ...

re: Your unpopular sports opinions - MountainTiger
Golf is more fun to watch without Tiger. Yeah I get that when he was a his peak, he did amazing things. And that in itself is fun to watch. But he also took away a lot of the drama that comes with more parity. Close tournaments are more fun than runaways....

re: Homebrewing Thread: Volume II - MountainTiger
I got the Electric Brewery panel. Yeah, it's ridiculous how much it costs. You can probably cut some corners without a lot of loss in functionality. For example, you could probably get by with just 2 PIDs. I thought about doing some sort of Raspberry Pi controller but I knew that would turn into yet...
