Say one thing for Les Miles, when he's had more than two weeks to prepare (i.e. season openers and bowl games), LSU has torn up some very good teams. The one exception would be the season opener against ASU, when the after effects of Katrina probably played a role in a close win.

I am concerned that you guys are going to be a bit unpredictable due to the new coaching staff. But it's hard to believe you can go from 0-12 last year to a win over LSU unless LSU completely takes the game off, and the track record under Miles doesn't suggest that's likely.

I'm curious to see how good your LBs are. From what I've read, you'll have a good bunch and reinstating Savannah means a serious upgrade. But LSU is likely to dominate both lines and make this a very difficult game for UW to keep close.

Oh and expect Locker to throw multiple interceptions. Sorry.

MLO,

Probably not much chance of that happening this year, given your status. You'll be stronger, no question, but I doubt you'll see a 'w' until later in the conference when the team has time to gel...What do you guys do for GameDay tailgates up there? No way everybody can party on boats. That leaves you landlubbers to burn some beef somewhere.....?

There are many more teams on the schedule that have a much better chance of beating LSU than wash.
Locker is going to be on his arse often..
LSU's defense is pissed.. ask GT

Yes. We'll be upset of we win by less than 4 TD's.

Of course there's a chance Washington can pull off an upset. Its just not likely IMO. Its opening week and that's a factor. Weather can be a factor if its sloppy field and negates LSU's speed advantage. Crowton and Miles have historically reduced the offense against early season non conference opponents. I expect the Huskies and their fans to be fired up about this game. If LSU is anything other than focused on the task at hand it could be a closer game than forecasted.

LSU could hand the ball off 50 times and win by 3+ TD's.

UW has no chance of upsetting LSU? Remember, we're talking about a sport where a Stanford can beat a USC, a Pitt can knock a West Virgina out of the BCS game—improbable upsets happen every year in CFB, so of course there's a chance UW can win the game. Here are a few obvious things that could benefit the Huskies:

• They should be motivated as hell to avenge last year's miserable season and get the Sarkasian regime off to a good start
• They're playing the game in their house
• Can JJ or whoever step up and play a great season opener on the road?
• Potential for sloppy play in the season opener—could affect LSU as well as UW

Naturally I like the Tigers' chances in this game. Assuming we come out focused and not overconfident, our superior talent and depth should make the difference. But to say UW has no chance of winning is simply wrong.

Husky Stadium

Is this a stadium or a giant praying mantis? That thing may strike fear in the hearts of bugs, but I don't think it'll bother us much. What you really need to worry about is what will happen to your campus after the horde of drunken cajuns pass through.

During televised games, it has been known to become so loud that the cameras shake, although this could also be due to the fact the stadium is in need of structural repair.[

I like their chances, cold weather, a late start time, nationally televised, first game of the season. Huskies could give LSU major fits if they don't get off to a strong start. Although not having Jarrett Lee start behind center makes me feel A LOT better. Sorry JL

Of course there's a chance. If LSU comes in with a bad attitude (e.g., this game's not even worth playing)and UW plays way beyond expectations because of new coach, national TV, well-known OOC opponent, nothing to lose, etc. (in this regard, I offer as an example LSU vs. Troy last year), then it could happen. However, I suspect the Tigers' attitude will be quite the opposite (I think they learned a few things about the difference between winning and losing last year), and if that's the case, I don't really think it will matter much how pumped up the Huskies are.

Luckylee is a walking advertisement for the social benefits of compulsory sterilization.

Not to flame... but didn't UCLA score something like 63pts on our DC when he was at Tennessee?
