I was always a Best Stop fan but my dad recently started going to Don's and I like it better.

The best Boudin I've ever had was from the Mowata Store. I think it's supposed to suck now, but it's still the best I've ever had. From my boudin trials last year I ranked them as follows:

Billy's (Scott)
Best Stop
Poche's
Don's
Kartchners
Billy (Kroltz Springs)
Herbert's

They were all good though

I'm with 'fin on this. Benoits has made some awesome venison and other game sausage for me over the years. When I'm cooking jambalaya in contests, I've gone almost exclusively Veron's. Used to really like Best Stop, but they've been inconsistent the past few years, so it's bail off in Scott for Billy's or Early's, and as ut said, the venison version at Kartchners if my drive gets diverted by a fubar on the basin.

Cormier's (Jennings) Jalapeno Boudin is awesome. They don't grind their pork, so you get nice junks of pulled pork.

Cormies (Lake Charles)

It's hard to pick a favorite boudin for me...I like Don's, Billy's, and Nunu's equally.

Rabideaux's has really good smoked sausage as well as Hebert's in Opelousas.

I rarely see Chop's and Billeaud's in Broussard mentioned. Both have some of the best boudin around. Chop's has really good specialty meats and some really unique fresh and smoked sausage offerings as well using wild game, fruit, etc

Billy's smoked boudin is my #1. Anything they make is great, but that smoked boudin is fantastic.

Damnit. Making jambalaya this weekend in Texas, but won't be passing through Iowa until after they close.
