Whole foods is having a sale on cherries today... $1.99/lb. Sounds like an awesome deal to me. Definitely going to be picking up quite a few elbows...

I plan on making a cherry pie and freezing a bunch of them for smoothies and ice cream. What else can I make?

What's your favorite thing to do with cherries?

I'm not sure about all locations. Baton Rouge is what I'm referring to but it wouldn't hurt to call the other locations. I love cherries! I had never had a fresh cherry until like two years ago

Made a really good hot sauce once with fresh cherries......they pair well with habanero's or serranos.

Anybody here ever make any cherry bounce? I might like to give it a shot.

Sort of. Every year I make a big batch of brandied cherries that I use for the next year in cocktails. Its brandy, a bit of water, a cinnamon stick, some lemon and or orange zest, some sugar, maybe a clove, maybe allspice, maybe star anise. Bring to a boil, pour over cherries. Let steep.

Cherry fest is awesome. I went to WF on my lunch break today. Free samples everywhere of different types of cheery dishes. I didn't even have to buy anything to eat I got so stuffed.

nice, so now I don't feel so bad! Do you love them now or were you not impressed?

16lbs. Freezing plenty, cherry pie and cherry bounce are all on the list to be made.

I love them. Bought a second bag of them today, but no Whole Foods here, so no bargain price.

I ate some of the first bag out of hand, but I used the rest in a beef short rib braise. Red wine and cherries. It was good, but I might have been better served by following a recipe.

And I also realize that is a dish you won't be making!

Cherry bounce!

Homemade cherry wine is also popular up here in the north.
