Tried to go there last Wednesday, but the line inside sent me elsewhere. Will try again when I have more time. Menu looks good.

Any oyster poboy, well made on good poboy bread, is my favorite.

And for the record, the Parkway RBPB is disappointing.

Lengua Torta from the Mexican Roach Coach across from the East Houma Library

Thanks for mentioning this. Otherwise, no way I would have tried this shite hole with no name and no menu. Picked up a lengua torta and a carne asada torta for lunch. The lengua torta was the better of the two, and was a very good sandwich. Especially for $5. Not sure I'd consider it one of the best sandwiches I've eaten, but will probably eat it again. If you haven't tried it yet, there's a really good Mexican bakery about a mile south on Grand Caillou in the strip center where Nocko's is. Great pastries.

As far as best sandwich in Louisiana, for me, there's Darrell's special and everything else.

Short stop is absolutely terrible. I think they get cold cuts from rouses and put some gravy on it

Nothing better. I've made dozens of variations of them using leidenheimer (which is tasteless by itself and wonderful wrapped around a poboy) or Gambinos French bread that I buy in Nola & freeze in zip lock bags. This time of year if I can find decent oysters I eschew my usual peacemaker with slaw for the summertime oyster BLT with our homegrown tomatoes.

When in Nola, I still get them from Verti Marte and Domilise's even tho the newer places on Magzine like Mahonys are probably better. Ditto Mohawk in Monroe.

Haven't been in a long time, bit Saias in Mandeville used to make really good poboys.

I think the gambino and muff at Cochon Butcher are up there. Love the oyster loaf at Casamento's. Had a RB, with extra gravy at Chimes recently that was "run down your elbows" delicious! Seasoned just right. Too many to know for sure

The most laughable shite I have ever seen on this board. Short Stop over Parkway Bakery? Seriously?

The roast beef at Harrison Grocery before Katrina ended that place was pretty good.
