Roast beef poboy from Parkway, dressed, is hard to beat.

The fried shrimp with a side of roast beef gravy beats it. I think I learned to do that from someone on here. Thank you whoever you are.

Decent enough place, but I find it hard to believe anything from there would make anyone's top 10 sandwiches in the state list.

What have you possibly heard about it otherwise that would make you think you couldn't rationally provide a ranking of sandwiches without having tried this one place? That's weird.

bullshite. The bread isn't anything special for a former "bakery" and there wasn't nearly enough gravy.

You can hate on their roast beef all day-every day, but you have lost your mind to call out Leidenheimer bread.

Might have been me...I've been pushing that to anyone who goes to parkway, but I'm sure I'm not the only one.

One "sandwich" flying under the radar is the Parrain's special at Johnson's Boucaniere in Lafayette...boudin ball smashed inside a grilled cheese with BBQ sauce

For me:

Gambino from Butcher
Buckboard bacon melt from Butcher
Roast Beef from R&O's (the R&Ospecial is also very good)
Shrimp poboy from Guy's or Cast Net (although haven't been there in a while)
Irish Dip- sliced corned beef with shaved prime rib, creole mustard, and side of au jus from O'Brien's Grille in gretna (not sure if they still offer this once since their kitchen management has changed)

In no particular order:

Central Grocery muff
Parkway shrimp poboy
R&O's roast beef poboy
Casamento's oyster loaf
Anything at Cochon Butcher

Every other sandwich I've ever had in Louisiana.

Best muffaletta I've ever had was from Come Back Inn on West Metairie. Total shithole, but that muff is always tasty.

I've just heard really rave reviews about the place

Perhaps it's a bit over hyped, I figured maybe there was something there that was so good that it had to make the list but I've never tried it

I prefer R&O's muffalatta to Central Grocery's which I don't think is all that great anymore. I really like R&O's Italian sandwich with the meatballs, Italian sausage and provolone cheese. The bread is so good with it, too.

Love the Gambino at Butcher and Bear's RB poboy.

I've only eaten at Joey K's one time but I had a great oyster poboy there. It gets knocked on this board, but the bread was perfectly warmed to a crispy exterior, oysters were fried crispy outside and not overcooked or greasy, in addition to being plentiful.

Olde Tyme Grocery's shrimp poboy is very good.
