I've had the Muffaletta from Central Grocery, The Ferdi from Mothers, The Darrell Special, the Shrimp Po-Boy from Old Tyme in Laffy, etc.

What are your favorites?

I feel like I'm not qualified to weigh in on this because I haven't paid a visit to Milk Bar yet and I hear they have some fantastic offerings.

Roast beef poboy from Parkway, dressed, is hard to beat.

Jazzfest softshell crab poboy is nice(might be the location/music), as is the Softshell crab BLT at Juban's Sunday brunch.

Cedar Grocery in Laffy used to have a Syrian Connection poboy that was pretty tight. Hard to eat without dripping yogurt on myself.

Back in the day, a chipped beef and sliced beef sandwich from Westside BBQ in Alexandria really hit the spot.

This wont compete with those you listed in terms or notoriety, but the pastrami and swiss on rye at Georges in BR is a really damn good sandwich.

NOLA

LINK

I always hear people say you have to try the Clooney but if you read the reviews or talk to people that have been there then you'll definitely want to try it.

And to officially answer the question, best sandwich I've had in LA is the pork belly sandwich at Cochon Butcher.

Without a doubt the most overrated sandwich I've ever eaten. I remember really looking forward to it because of the hype.

Agreed. Also, isn't the Ferdi like $11 or $12?

O-ver-ra-ted. I waited 30+ minutes to try supposedly the best muffaletta in the state and I thought it was no different than any other option in Baton Rouge.

bullshite. The bread isn't anything special for a former "bakery" and there wasn't nearly enough gravy.

Short Stop Poboys on Transcontinental in Metairie kicks its arse, in my opinion.

Where were you before I went there?!

I know their fried shrimp and fried oyster poorboys are praised but I had also read great things about the roast beef.

My girlfriend ordered the shrimp dry so I didn't even bother to sample it when she offered me a bite.
