The following relates to St. Jude Children's Cancer hospital. in Memphis, TN

In late 2007, the Chili's Care Center opened on the St. Jude campus. Chili's restaurant chain has pledged to provide $50 million to fund the construction of the center. The seven-story Chili's Care Center will house 340,000 square feet (32,000 m2) and will add 24 labs and 16 beds to the campus. It will house the department of radiological services, The Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium, two floors of outpatient clinics, one floor of inpatient clinics and rooms, two floors of laboratory space, an office floor and an unfinished level for future expansion.

An impressive use for $50,000,000.00 of corporate profits.

That food-like substance they call "ribs" is truly awful.

I don't care for the food at Chili's, but they make some excellent margaritas.

I like Chili's.

It isn't mind blowing but I've had much worse. They make a pretty tasty chicken fried steak.

If they tried to handsomely offer and give me a new building on campus ala Patrick Taylor aka Ceba for every dollar I collected, I'm still not sure i'd be building anything just to save the world from another Chilli's, keep your head on a swivel.

Four close friends children have been longtime patients of St Jude. I am a big supporter and a donor. What Chilis has done as well as McDonalds is incredible. Anyone who thinks they do this just as a write off ( which doesn't make sense) or for strictly publicity has never been to St Jude. Canes is another nice corporate donor. If they did not have these institutional investors they would not be able to do nearly what they do for children and their families much of which is free.

Good post MD.

hey guys look at me, im a food snob and only eat at high end farm to market places every day

nothing wrong with Chilis, i eat many business meetings there for lunch because its inexpensive, food is good, and its quick. for weekends the kids love it and they have a good happy hour

im not too snobby to say a chain is good. i normally get their fajita salad or margarita chicken with black beans and rice. both are very good. chips and queso are the bomb!

It's called farm to table. Food usually goes from the farm to the market.

I've never had a "bad" meal at Chili's.

"Bad" tastes bad. If it doesn't taste bad, it isn't.
