I'm not going to get into the class debate as I'm not above a Chili's-level place, but how has no one mentioned health yet? That's a huge aspect of Chili's. Just check out their menu (pdf warning). Say for example the chicken fingers. They're 1510 calories with 4460 mg of sodium. Add fries and you're at 2000 calories and 5800 mg of sodium. That is crazy and a good enough reason for me not to eat there.

Do you fear the staff is going to hold you down and force feed those items to you? Really? If not, consider a salad and a cup of soup. Maybe consider a "cheat meal" and another mile or two on the tread mill the next day. Goodness.

Pu-lease. Everything in moderation. Some people love to live in the stench of their own ignorance.

Then just call me Ignatius Reilly, because I'd rather wallow in my own stench of ignorance than eat my daily serving of calories and twice my daily serving of sodium in one sitting on some middle of the road chicken and fries. If I'm going to splurge, I'm going to splurge.

I'm wif ya bottomland..

my body is my temple and I ain't walkin' thru the doors of a demonic calorie infested place like chilis! I also heard that they served alkyhaulick beverages, and i know someone with the handle "brewer" wouldn't drink something loaded with debil spurm, "sugar".

Thanks for the info, MD.

Haven't eaten at Chili's much since my son grew up and out but now I'll make sure to hit them up, for a meal, every now and then. If they're willing to donate $50 mil to St Judes, then I'm certainly willing to toss them a $50 on occasion.

It's a good thing they're doing!

And...if their food's not your thing, you can always go in, order a couple of top shelf Margaritas and watch a ball game.

What Chili's is doing is fantastic. And, like some have commented, I'm not a fan of their food, due to health considerations. But, when I'm on the road and looking for a place to get a decent drink, I do frequently imbibe at one of their locations.
