Planned to stay in town for the 1st anniversary this upcoming weekend and got a room at Hotel Royal in the quarter. Trying to stay in the quarter for both nights and looking to see if anyone has any good spots for cocktails before dinner. Already have reservations at Doris Metropolitan Friday night (was debating between that at MeauxBar) and R'evolution Saturday night.

I know there's the carousel bar and Cafe Amelie has a great patio but are there any other good spots I'm blanking on? Preferably with a good courtyard or with a balcony.

I really wish there was a great place for cocktails with a rooftop in the quarter, I think it would be amazing.

Just go visit Chris Hannah at Arnaud's. Unless this happens to be the week of Tales of the Cocktail that you are planning this rendezvous, in which case it will be crazy everywhere.

Other spots: Carousel as you mentioned, bar at Antoine's (probably only good thing at the spot), and can always cab it over to the Polo Lounge. Latitude 29 is also there if you want to Tiki it up

It's this weekend. We've got late reservations so hopefully it's starting to cool off by then. Nothing we're not used to.

Sylvain has a wonderufl little bar, as well as a small courtyard in the back, and they make great drinks.

Kingfish has a bar right int he front of the restaurant that feels really open and lively.

Patrick's Bar Vin is a nice little space, good wine + cocktails, and a small courtyard right out front. And it's directly across from Revolution.

There's a nice little patio right outside of R'evolution at the hotel. You walk outside of the bar into the courtyard, so you could get after dinner drinks at the bar and bring them out into the courtyard before you leave the restaurant.

I enjoy the bar upstairs at the Windsor Court for late night wind down listening to some jazz.

Seriously can't go wrong with any of these recs although I am not as high on Carousel bar. My first stop would be French 75 for sure though based on quality of cocktails alone. Bar Tonique, latitude 29, Sylvain, and Sobou are all other good spots.

If you're looking for a rooftop bar, there's a great one at the Omni Royal Orleans. Fabulous view of the Mississippi River and the Quarter.

It is a classic place, but they aren't doing anything special. Bar Tonique is my favorite. Laid back and just killer cocktails.

Thanks for the r'evolution courtyard, omni and bar tonique recs. I think Polo Lounge after dinner might be perfect too.

Has anyone been to the patio at Broussards for drinks? It looks really nice.

This weekend is the Running of the Bulls so the FQ will be crazy on Sat. Not sure if there will be an intimate spot to be found.
