I just wish the ones already here weren't so shitty compared to other places.

BR Outback is the worst I've ever been to.

Ate at On the Border in Hot Springs a while back and it was very good as far as Mexican chains go. Went to the one here in BR and almost threw up.

An In n out or shake shack on government street in mid city would be legit, almost as legit as a Bud's Broiler.

I live off Government, so I'm 100% behind the In and Out idea. (Although Curbside is STRONG and Sonic takes care of my cheap, quick burger needs.)

I keep waiting for a Dat Dog to open up here. There was talk they were looking at a spot on Acadian Thruway but that didn't happen.

Same thing with Chuy's. They've got em in Lafayette and Shreveport now. Seems to me one on Nicholson, between LSU and Downtown would make bank, bank, bank after the Water Campus gets a little more built out.

If we are talking drive through I would love a Taco Cabana in Mobile. I just can't do Taco Bell although my kids love that stuff.

For a sit down place that's pretty nice and very tasty my vote goes to Pappasittas and Pappadeaux. Not sure I spelled that right but I love those two places.

Don't get the infatuation with this place. Other than a few of their sauces it's pretty much MEH food. Been twice to one here in Orlando and that's plenty.

It's packed all the time though

Once you've had a Cabana Bowl, Taco Bell doesn't cut it.

Now, I've just been to the ones in Austin and they were really good. Matter of fact, I may have been to the original one the times I went, which were 20+ years apart....

There is no Chuy's in Shreveport. Wish we had one. Every time I visit my sister and BIL in KC we go. I know it's not top level food, but for the price and what you get I enjoy it quite a bit.

Plus, I'd do horrible things for that creamy jalapeño dip

Great happy hour, fresh tortillas, and tasty sauces = a good combination for a town like BR.

I think it really depends on what you order there though as some menu items are much better than others. Overall, I'd say it's an above average Tex Mex joint and would probably be the best in BR today.

Thanks for letting me know. I read a while back that one was supposed to open on Youree Drive. That was right before they announced one was going to Lafayette.

I loved my 2am visits to Cabana when I lived in Austin. Have no clue if the food was good. Not sure I ever ate there sober.
