El Tiempo is money. I stop there every time I make it to Houston.

Same family that started Ninfas.

I think their breakfast tacos are the bee's knees. I'm a big fan of their salsa fuego as well.

Whataburger. Hopefully it would take some pressure off of In-N-Out. Always a crowded, long wait nightmare in there.

Ninfa's went bankrupt, hence the re-brand of the BR location to Tio Javi's.

I don't think the few left around the US are connected to the original chain.

Wasn't aware of that, thanks. Used to love Ninfa's when I lived in Houston.

That Ninfas on Navigation Street in Houston is still open but they openly claim they are not affiliated with the other Ninfas. Something about a family squabble. Having said that I would love it if the Navigation one was in Mobile. It was miles and miles above that Ninfas in BR when it was open. Those two weren't even on the same planet. Sigh... I really love outstanding Mexican food. Can't get it where I live.

What Baton Rouge needs is a Fatheads or Pizza Port.

I'd die of obesity/cholesterol poisoning but my god would it be a glorious run if they opened a location in BR.

What are you talking about? Baton Rouge has 20 or so McDonald's locations.

I wish a 24 hours Buds Broiler would come to BR

My friends and I always wanted to buy the Kolache Kitchen space (Tigerland area) before Kolache Kitchen did and put a Bud's Broiler there. We would have made a killing.

Most of the places mentioned are in my area and there are a few that I've never heard of. El Rey was the one that I've heard of but is not in my area, we used to eat that fairly often when we lived in the Heights area of Houston.

El Rey is a place that I wouldn't expect to miss but now wish it were around.
