We wont be making the trip this year. My wife is still taking chemo/radiation for cancer. She offered to try to make the trip at least :) I just couldnt put that on her.
To end the, who should LSU have played, I think CBS proposes the best method..

IMHO Team 'B' leaps off the page...

lol you weren't Bama's sugarbowl, you guys re going downhill, beating LSU isn't as impressive as beating Ole Miss anymore.

I think this should read: beating Bama isnt as impressive as beating Auburn anymore
I dont live in Cobb but work here. If you saw him play live, it looked just like vs Arky. This part of the state has some high level HS football. We used to follow Etowah pretty close until we moved to the sticks this year. Not sure who we will go watch now, maybe my old HS but they suck at FB lol.

@BT

I was at the spring game, took my whole fam. Jennings looked the best IMHO considering the O he played with and the D he played against. He looked in the spring game exactly how that 99yd drive played out, but add in more run plays and reads (not a 2 min drill as in the game).

Mett threw some gorgeous deep routes after a shaky start, but didnt even attempt short/medium routes after the first couple stalled drives.

Rivers looked decent, but was up against scout D also, so it was hard to give too much credit.
Live in GA and married to a Bama fan myself. We jab each other all year, watch the NFL draft together, watch all LSU games, most Bama games (blowouts we flip), and any other SEC game or OOC matchup we think we will be fun to watch. Im LSU all year long though. It started as a basketball fan watching Shaq, but I followed those 90s KY teams pretty close too. As Ive aged, I watch far less basketball and havent missed an LSU game in at least 6 years (minus the few i couldnt catch from my location, gonna miss tigervision though). I would say 8.5+ during the offseason and 11 during...
Dont forget to hit pause when land a shot on a boss in Master Blaster....damage accumulates while paused!

Jennings isnt a running QB...but he takes advantage if the defense leaves gaps. He's def got an arm.

The Marietta school board guys here still rave on him, its pretty awesome.

edit: should read isnt a run-first QB
I work for Cobb County...Jennings is legit and is much more a passer than runner. He wont hesitate to take what the defense gives him. I also thought he looked really sharp in the spring game as well. Im stoked to see what he can do behind center next year. The smart thing would be to RS Harris IMHO.
When I think of Sonic Sam, all I can see is him hulk smashing the ground. Hell it got me fired up all the way in GA just watching on tv. Dude was an epic Tiger and will always be remembered fondly in our house.

@cajunduby: lol

Anyone expecting this young defense to stop a decent offense is just in denial at this point. They have a bright future, and Im stoked to see what they look like next year, but its not here yet and we shouldnt be counting on defense to win as it has the last few years. I really think we lost that game in the first half, by not checking down and avoiding the interceptions. If we just put 7 up in the first half we win.

This loss was on par with the 2010 arkansas game which knocked us out of a bcs bowl game, for me.
So what if they convert 6 of 8 if we outscore and win the second half? It was the first half that cost us the game. As for Miles saying his team wasnt prepared, Im pretty sure we all know he's going to defend his players and take the blame for them. He's not going to go out and call players out for a bad game, he's not that coach.

Never said they were stellar, but they kept us in the game and offered us a chance to win. We dont need to shut everyone out and hold them all under 100 yards to win.

I think it was the second end zone pick that was thrown, we had 2 guys wide open on the right side underneath. It wasnt a 3rd down toss, so there was no reason to try and force that throw.
Each interception had at least one receiver wide open. Take those 3 interceptions away from Ole Miss and I dont see how they win. If nothing else in the game changes (ie defense/game plan) I think its enough to have won it for us. Im ok with being the only one, just curious why no one else thinks it.

Am I the only one who thinks the defense played well enough for us to win? The gameplan was good enough to win? And that Mettenberger's first half of not checking down cost us the game?
I dont understand the Miles hate. Those 2 interceptions in the end zone killed us. On the second one I believe Mett had at least 2 wide open underneaths. He's just not checking down off OBJ and Juice. You cant fault Miles for this. The game plan was solid, and if you remove the interceptions its a winnable game.
After watching Bridgewater through the first half of the Rutgers/Louisville game last night, I can honestly say I believe he's overhyped as well. He made some very poor choice throws. Got me to thinking, what defenses he's facing day in/day out that even come close to NFL? Hell, which ones come close to SEC? Forget the sugar bowl, everybody has a fluke game, and to me its looking more and more like that was the exception and not the rule.

Mett seems legit to me, and for his size and the ability he's displaying this year, has to be considered a top QB in the draft.

Mobile QBs at the college level work, its proven. They work due to the imbalance of talent, however, which does not exist at the next level. There are always exceptions, but just think back to how teams like Oregon fare vs the SEC. Its not just any mobile QB that will succeed at the next level. Mariota and the like Im not sold on yet, even though I can appreciate his skill in the college game.You could even go as far to say Manziel doesnt fare well vs an above average defense. I think most fans forget that 90% of college teams put the best players on offense, and why you see such high scores. Teams with great athletes on defense still negate most scrambling QBs. This fact can be proven by looking back at Cam Newton vs LSU. We were leading that game going into the 4th before they won it (forget stats, he was contained for the majority of the game), and now he's nothing special since teams have game planned for him, and have tape on him.
